Grounding

Helps: when a business idea needs its parts laid out side by side so that gaps and contradictions show; the preset adds no claim beyond the zones

Backfires: when filling every box feels like validation: a complete canvas is a set of guesses, not tested evidence

  • CItems placed inside the same bounded region are perceived as belonging together, even against other grouping cues, so labelled zones make category membership readable at a glance.Wagemans et al. (2012)
